Multifocal Lens Implants are designed for any person who is now experiencing Presbyopia (the inability to see things clearly up close) and is not satisfied with corrective lenses as a solution, or is in need of cataract surgery. The procedure is essentially similar to that for cataract surgery and is done on an outpatient basis at our facility.

What follows is a list of Multifocal Lens Implant options we have provided and links to their manufacturers web sites, so you may learn more about your options prior to surgery. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to phone our offices and speak with one of our knowledgeable staff at (800) 872-6132.

Tecnis Multifocal™

This lens is the latest multifocal lens. Like other multifocal lenses, it greatly reduces the need for glasses after cataract surgery. In U.S. clinical trials, 86% of patients never used glasses. It provides good vision for distance, near, and everything in between. With all multifocal lenses, there is a chance that patients will see rings or halos around lights at night. This phenomenon occurs less frequently with this lens.

ACRYSOF® Toric. For the treatment of cataracts and astigmatism. The traditional replacement lens clears the vision, but cannot correct the astigmatism. Corrective eyewear or additional surgery are needed to reduce blurring and distortion. The Acrysof Toric IOL makes it possible to reduce or eliminate corneal astigmatism and significantly improve uncorrected distance vision. Acrysof Toric provides quality distance vision, independent of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
